Moment formula we are using is (wl^2 / 8) which mid span moment.

Designing is at the point which has maximum bending moment.

So answer should be mid span.

In a simply supported beam structure with udl bm always act at mid span with value wl2/8.

Since BM is maximum at midspan, design should be done for maximum bending moment so that it will take care for other section.
