@Vivek vijaybahi savaliya. Is this comprehensive answer according to specifications?

If the ratio of shear span to effective depth 1 to 2.5 diagonal compression failure will occur and this diagonal compression will be resisted by concrete. Diagonal compression failure is because of only compression.

If ratio of shear span to effective depth 2.5 to 6 diagonal tension is occured and this diagonal tension is resisted by shear reinforcement by stirrups. Diagonal tension failure is because of both compression and flexural tension.

Both diagonal tension and compression are occured at 45°.

If ratio of shear span to effective depth is greater then 6 then flexural failure will occur. And this is at 90°.

The shear reinforcement in an RCC beam is provided to resist shear in concrete.

Is it true?

Shear reinforcement is provided to resist diagonal tension. At the supports there is a max shear force and BM is 0 and due to this cracks develop at 45° angle.

Basically, shear develop diagonal tension failure in beam so shear reinforcement is provided to resist diagonal tension failure.

Why not vertical shear?

Actually, stirrups are provided to prevent the shear stress but it is vertically placed so how it become diagonal?
