It is economical for larger span and increased tensile strength of concrete and to reduced sectional area.

As it it economical for large span also it reduces dead load of structure thereby reduces stress.

A method of prestressing concrete by tensioning the tendons against hardened concrete.

Post tensioning is how useful are economical?

Now a days prestressing by post tensioning method is most economical for large spans especially for bridges. Lesser the dead load more the resisting capacity.
