Answer is correct.
Edge strip = 1/8 th of the width
Middle strip = 3/4 th of the width.
Edge strip = 1/8 th of the width
Middle strip = 3/4 th of the width.

For column strip it uses L/4 in each direction. thus the middle strip has a dimension of L/2. So A is correct.
