Aquaduct:-When canal runs above that drainage then it called aqueduct. The only condition for constructing aqueduct is that the HFL of drainage should be below the bottom of the canal.
Syphon Aqueduct: When the distance between the bottom of canal and bed of drainage is less then there is a possibility of drainage water to enter the canal. To avoid this problem, the drainage bottom is artificially lower down below the canal this construction is called Syphon Aqueduct.

The answer can be the aqueduct as well as Syphon aqueduct in the case of canal passing over natural drainage, both are applicable but the Syphon aqueduct is provided to reduce the HFL of the natural drainage.

In both Aqueduct and Syphon Aqueduct, Canal is passed over the Drainage, But if the HFL of Drainage is much below the trough of canal then the water will flow freely and structure called aqueduct, but if the HFL of Drainage is above the trough of canal then the water will flow due to syphonic action (Pipe flow) and structure provided is called Syphon Aqueduct.

Aqueduct or syphon Aqueduct.
In both the cases, the canal is above drainage. The difference is in ht of the water table.
