Mach number, in fluid mechanics, ratio of the velocity of a fluid to the velocity of sound in that fluid, named after Ernst Mach (1838–1916) , an Austrian physicist and philosopher.

It is said that gases that fall under M < 0.3 are said to be incompressible.
And gases that are M > 0.3 are said to be compressible.
And gases that are M > 0.3 are said to be compressible.

Reason:
If mach number for gases is less than 0.3 then Compressibility of gases is approximately zero.
If mach number for gases is less than 0.3 then Compressibility of gases is approximately zero.

If mach no is < 0.3 effect of compressibility is neglect.
