Road markers or traffic signs are typically placed at a minimum distance of 50 cm from the edge of a kerb to ensure they are visible and do not obstruct pedestrian movement or pose a hazard to vehicles.

This standard helps maintain safety and functionality on the road.

@All.

Here it's saying about Road Marking, In IRC 35 2015, it clearly states that " Edge line provided all along the raised kerb, both median side or footpath/raised Kerb on shoulder side shall always have the setback distance to the extent possible which shall not be not less than 200 mm from the vertical face of kerb". So, the correct answer will be 20 cm.

Actually, that is road marking, there is Centre line marking, edge marking, etc. Here, it is asked that what distance the edge marking is painting on road from the edge of the carriageway.

The sign should be placed such that in case of roads 0.6 m away from edges of kerbs.
2 to 3 m meter from the carriageway of roads.

Road marker is the instrument used for marking/mark.

The marking from the edge of the road (or) from kerb should not less than 60cm.

It is the distance between the kerb and the edge of the road.
