As per IRC Exceptional gradient may be given provided the length of the stretch should not be greater than 100m and the spacing between such shouldn't be greater than 100m.

The exceptional gradient is very cheaper gradients. The should be limited for short stretches not exceeding about 100 metres at stretch.
