Width of highway minimum two lanes =2(3.6) = 7.2m.
And excluding separator width both sides=0.7 * 2=1.4,
The width should be 5.8m.

The minimum roadway width of NH = 6.25m(single lane)(For mountainous ans steep terrain)

Ajay Sharma said:   5 years ago
Since its an NH it should be 2 lanes. So taking a min value without kerb 7m + 0.7m for future expansion.

For single-lane road - 3.5 m.
Double lane road with Kerb - 7.5 m.
Double lane road without Kerb - 7 m.
Multilane - 3.5m/lane.
Intermediate lane- 5.5 m.
Single lane Bridge- 4.25m.
Village road - 3m.

For single-lane width 3.75 meter, but when to multi-lane width becomes 3.5 meters. For 2 lane 3.5+3.5+.7 = 7.7.

There is a difference between the width of pavement and width of formation.
width of the formation may be 6.7m
But the width of the pavement is 5.7m so the answer is right.

6.7 is the correct answer.

Answer is E 8.1.

3.7 is a minimum width for a single lane.
Therefore 3.7 + 0.7 + 3.7 = 8.1.
