But in India, the width of the road for the single lane is 3.75 and for 2 lanes and more than that is 3.5 * no of lanes. then how can you say that width of lane 3.6m?

Width of highway (minimum of two lanes).

= Width of 2 lanes + Separator width.

= (2 * 3.60) + 0.7 = 7.9m.

Formation width =lane width + separator width + shoulder width on either side.
= 3.5 + 3.5 + 0.9 = 7.9.

3.5+0.9+3.5 = 7.9( 0.9 for separator width).
