Given Ans 1.3 is correct.
Ratio = strength of circular section / Strength of Square section.
If We assumed Side or Dia. Is 4 cm.
And Load P is the same,
Then Ratio of ultimate stresses of circular to the square is;
= (P/12.56) / (P/16).
= P .16/P. 12.56.
= 1.3.

Correct answer is 3/4.
C = 0; D = 0.
Therefore, (qf)cir/(qf)sq = 0.3yBNq/0.4yBNq.
= 3/4.
C = 0; D = 0.
Therefore, (qf)cir/(qf)sq = 0.3yBNq/0.4yBNq.
= 3/4.
