Agree, A is the correct answer.

Because of volume decrease and density increase.

So, omc decrease.

OMC depends on compaction efforts and the reaction is inversely proportional.

Thanks @Vinay Singh.

Option A is correct.

A greater compactive effort reduces the optimum moisture content and increases the maximum dry density. It can be seen that the compaction curve is not a unique soil characteristic. It depends on the compaction effort. For this reason, it is important to specify the compaction procedure (light or heavy) when giving values of MDD and OMC.

Answer is B, OMC is a property of a soil, does not depend on compacting effort.

Hi everyone,

OMC will remain same by increasing the compaction effort but the MDD will be increased.

If we keep the MDD value constant (eg: 1.808) then even on less moisture content and by increasing the compacting efforts, we can achieve the same MDD i.e. 1.808.

Thanks.

Sir I have a doubt, actually OMC is a constant value how would it differs? Isn't the moisture content that differs?

If we increase the compaction effort, then the voids will be reduced. When voids are reduced the optimum moisture content will be reduced.
