B is the right because contact pressure in rigid footing is non-uniform.

B is the right answer because in rigid footing settlement is uniform for both cases sandy or clay but contact pressure max at centre and min at corner in case of sandy soil and the contact pressure is max in the corner and mini in the centre in case of clay.

D is the right answer because in rigid pavement settlement will be uniform.

So contact pressure will be varying.

It's a sandy soil so contact pressure at the center will be minimum and it will b max on edges, so D is the right answer.

@ALL.

I go with with [c] because when load is applied on the sandy soils it does not mean it will have zero stress at the edges, but it will be minimum.
