Why we are taking 5% of aggregate and 30% of cement?

However, I believe that the density of cement is 1440 Kg/Cum.

Therefore, the volume of a 50 kg cement bag works out to be [ 50/1440 ]*1000 = 34.722 Liters.

Yeah, that's the Water is required 60% of the cement means if we are considering the 1 bag of 50kg then for water. It will become (60/100) 50 = 30 litres.

Yeah, I agree with the answer 30.

It's Thumb Rules for deciding the quantity of water in concrete:

(i) Weight of water = 28% of the weight of cement + 4% of the weight of total aggregate.

(ii) Weight of water = 30% of the weight of cement + 5% of the weight of total aggregate.

1:3:6, so we multiply by 1*50 Kg cement and 3 fine aggregate * 50 kg, so.

We get 150 kg fine aggregate.

@Salman.

But here told ratio 1:3:6,

Where, 1=Cement, 3=Sand, and 6=Stone.
Therefore Sand + Stone = Aggregate.
So, sum total 3 + 6 = 9. [50x9 = 450Kg].

For ratio, 1:3:6 w/c ratio-0.60.
So water required for 1 bag (50 kg) cement is=50*0.60=30 lit.

Please explain correctly, whether 30 is correct or 14 is correct?

If any then explain how.
