Alumina plays a major role in brick. It acts as a cementing material in raw brick. Brick clay is plastic due to the presence of alumina. This plasticity ensures that bricks can be molded. An excess amount of alumina in clay may cause the bricks to shrink, warp, or crack on drying and burning as any other cementing material. The Percentage content of the brick does not make the brick the main constituent. Alumina is the main constituent of every kind of clay. The only thing that matters is function or role similarly. So, here alumina is correct.

The major Constituents of good brick earth work is Silica or Alumina.

A major constituent in brick earth is silica, and alumina also plays an important role, but in the question specific property or function is not mentioned. So the correct answer is silica.

It should be silica.

Yes silica has more percent (50-60) and alumina has (20-30) but the main ingredient for its good quality is Alumina. So, the answer must be D.

The right answer is Silica.

Alumina 20-30 percentage is correct because its absorb water and imparts plasticity to the clay and makes brick hard.

Silica is the right answer.

Major constituent is Alumina not silica. No matter what is percentage is. Alumina provides plasticity to bricks.
