Alumina 20-30 percentage is correct because its absorb water and imparts plasticity to the clay and makes brick hard.

Major constituent is Alumina not silica. No matter what is percentage is. Alumina provides plasticity to bricks.

Silica may be higher in percentage. But alumina gives bond strength so it is consider main constituent.
