Water absorption for 1st class brick is 12 to 15% but in no case exceed 20% so the answer is C.

As per BIS code 1077/1962 :
1st class brick 20% ..
2nd class 22% to 24%
3rd class 25%.
1st class brick 20% ..
2nd class 22% to 24%
3rd class 25%.

Correct answer is 15% for the first class brick for second class it is up to 20%.
