The minimum crushing / compressive strengths of burnt bricks tested flat-wise prescribed are:

(i) Common building bricks"35 kg/sq. cm.
(ii) Second class bricks"70 kg/sq. cm.
(iii) First class bricks" 105 kg/sq. cm.

The minimum crushing strength of a first-class brick is? Please tell me the answer.

Shubhm said: (Feb 26, 2018)
1st class brick10.5 N/mm2.

Could you tell what is the strength of A-class brick? This is an NBCC question.

Ravi Raval said: (Mar 3, 2018)
Which strength? eg: Compressive, Tensile or shear?

Nanu said: (Mar 13, 2018)
@ Ravi: Crushing strength is 5.5Mp0a & Compressive strength is 3.5Mpa for good bricks (generally).

@Shubhm: another name of 1st class brick is A-Class brick.

@All:
Crushing strength minimum
Second class brick; 7.5Mpa.
First class brick: 10.5 MPa.

Mohammad Ashfaque said: (Aug 20, 2018)
Minimum compressive strenght of second class brick 75kg/cm.sq.

Chirag said: (Dec 28, 2018)
Then how much for a good brick?

Hapun said: (Sep 13, 2019)
@Subham.

AA class brick -14n/mm square.

Chetan said: (Nov 14, 2019)
@Shubham.

Class A bricks have a compressive strength 125N/mm^2 and water absorption less than 4.5%.

Class B bricks have a compressive strength 75N/mm^2 and water absorption less than 7%.
