For low heat cement heat of hydration is very low compare to other cement I think.

Low heat cement generates low heat of hydration but the total heat generated is the same as the normal cement. We use low heat cement in mass concreting to avoid temperature stress in the internal zone and cracking. It does not affect the strength of concrete. Because strength depends on mix design we use and cement is one of the ingredients of concrete. Cement is not only the one who gives the strength in concrete. Initial and Final setting time is normal.

Hence D answer is correct.

Low heat setting time is 60 mins. Final setting time is 600 mins (IS:12600), used for mass concrete like dams. I have a doubt about its compressive strength.

In Cement heat of hydration and early strength gaining properties due to C3A & C3S.

In law heat cement C3A & C3S content is less, thus heat of hydration is less . And low heat cement thus has less initial compressive strength compared to normal.

But, Ultimate strength of low heat cement is more than normal cement.

In low heat cement c2s containt is high. It means least Heat of hydration and least rate of Hydration.
