Resultant R = sqrt(A2+B2).

A = 6.
B = 8 substitute A, B.
R = sqrt(100).
R = 10 N.

P = 6.
Q = 8.

R = (P^2 + Q^2 + 2PQ cosa)^1/2.
(where 'a' is the angle between the forces 'P' and 'Q').

So,
R = (36 + 64 = 2 * 6 * 8 * cos90)^1/2.

Then, R = 10.
