and for electric it must 0-1.

For elastic body e = 0-1.
For Perfectly elastic body e = 1.
For elastic body e = 0-1.

For elastic bodies,
Velocity of approach = velocity of separation.
v2 - v1 = u1 - u2, so both are cancelling.
We are getting the value coefficient of restitution e = 1.
