If the particle moves with the velocity of 2 meters in a second. Then to cover the distance of 1.5 meters obvious it takes less than one second.

So, I think the question is wrong.

2 = 0+0.1*t,
t = 2\0.1=20 sec.

0.76 seconds is the wrong answer. Negative acceleration should be considered.
