A uniform increase in velocity with time implies that the acceleration also increases with time. An increase in acceleration with time is called "uniform acceleration".

Velocity increases in equal interval of time. So it has to be a uniform acceleration.

As the velocity increases at an equal quantity in equal intervals acceleration remains constant (i.e v/t).
