As the reactants carbon and sulphur are elements, their heat of formation is 0.

Hence the heat change of the reaction is entirely its heat of formation.

Two solids are reacting here and liquid formation is happening here. Solid to liquid conversion happen either by reducing pressure or increase in temp. Here they didn't mention about pressure.

So, def the temp is increasing so the heat of formation.
