The cost of Berylia (beryllium oxide) is more than the alumina. Indeed berylia is effective in all aspects except cost because of industrial use. The industry must follow commercial advice to make good profit to the industry.

So, in commercial aspects, alumina is preferred over beryllia even after its effective properties, it's nearly 8 times costlier than alumina.
