Iron constantan because of its temperature range is -196 to 760. And scale linearity is good and it is nearly linear between 149-438 degree centigrade. And most economical of rest. Platinum rhodium platinum is poor scale below 538 centigrade and expensive also. Pt-PtRh and chromel alumel are oxidizing.
