Breathing loss (also known as standing loss) is due to the release of gasoline vapour to the ambient air due to the expansion and contraction of vapour inside storage tanks. Breathing loss occurs irrespective of changes in the liquid level inside the tank.

Gasoline has low vapour pressure and breathing test is -2 to +2 and high is better.
