API gravity, is a measure of how heavy or light a petroleum liquid is compared to water. If its API gravity is greater than 10, it is lighter and floats on water; if less than 10, it is heavier and sinks. API gravity is thus an inverse measure of the relative density of a petroleum liquid and the density of water, but it is used to compare the relative densities of petroleum liquids.

The correct answer is Gasoline.. specific gravity depends upon the type of hydrocarbon present..i.e for aromatics, sp. gravity is high; and for paraffin's, sp. gravity is low..

and °API= (141.5/sp. gravity)-131.5

as the paraffin content is high in gasoline, its specific gravity is low and it has the max °API.. :)

The correct answer is Gasoline. Specific gravity depends on upon the type of hydrocarbon present. ie for aromatics, Sp.Gravity is high; and for paraffin's, Sp.Gravity is low.

As the paraffin content is high in gasoline, its specific gravity is low and it has the max API.

The correct answer is gasoline, because the API gravity of a petroleum product is a function of how light/ heavy d product is (i.e the density). Thus the lighter the product the higher the API gravity, the heavier a product the lower its API gravity.

Fractions of crude oil with higher API will have lower molecular density so they will be lighter and will fill the upper side of product streams. Atmospheric gas oil is similar to diesel fraction with similar molecular weight value as fuel oil.

Atmospheric gas oil is the heaviest product of atmospheric distillation unit i.e. it's specific gravity is highest among all the products of atmospheric distillation unit so it's api should be lowest.

Gasoline is lightest among the options, so API of gasoline is highest As the paraffin content is high in gasoline, its specific gravity is low and it has the max API.

Gasoline answer is right due to gasoline specific gravity .75 to .85 Kg/l.
So,
°API = (141.5/SPGR)- 131.5.
Very low SPGR of gasoline there also option.

API of gasoline is highest than atm. Gas oil because its lighter than gas oil.

API of gasoline around 70.

API of gas oil around 40.

Right answer is gasolene because lighter product API gravity will be maximum and heavier pdt API gravity will be minimum.
