In a drum dryer, a thin film of liquid or slurry is spread over rotating, heated drum, and the moisture evaporates due to the heat.

@Mungam Rao.
I think MT is slower than HT because MT involves physical contact.

Heat transfer is the slow step than mass transfer in drier. So contolling step is slowest step i.e. heat transfer.

In this type of dryer, drying takes place by internally heated drum; the material is outside the drum so first heat is transferred then the mass is transferred so controlling factor is heat transfer rather than the diffusion.

There should be heat and mass transfer simultaneously so the answer should be (c).

Simultaneously heat and mass transfer occur in drying. So I think the answer should be (C).

Controlling factor means the Principle on which a process is based.
In case of drying its heat transfer.
