With the passage of time temperature difference between hot liquid and room temperature decreases, then gradually it will become zero. Hence as time increases delta T decreases we will get a straight line in the Plot.

LMTD is varies as 1/ΔT.
As time increases, ΔT decreases (i. E temperature difference hot liquid and room). In this case, LMTD value is proportional to time. Hence graph is a straight line.
