The given answer is correct since tube pitch is the distance between center to center, therefore the tube pitch is 2 (radius) + clearance or diameter + clearance.

All tubes are same size.
So, 2 tube radius is equal to 1 tube diameter than, tube pitch = 1 tube diameter + clearance.
So, 2 tube radius is equal to 1 tube diameter than, tube pitch = 1 tube diameter + clearance.
