CO + 1/2 O2 = CO2
Now, 28 g CO requires 16 g O2.
So, 2 Nm3 CO requires = (2×16)/28,
= 1.14 Nm3 O2.
Now, 100 volumes Air contains 23 volumes O2.
So, for 1.14 Nm3 O2 required Air will be;
= (1.14×100)÷23 = 4.95 approx 5 Nm3 of Air.
