A Junkers Calorimeter is a device for determining the heating capacity of a gas - that is, how many joules one can get by burning a set volume of that gas.

Junker's calorimeter is used to determine the calorific value of gaseous fuels.
It works by burning a known volume of gas and measuring the heat it transfers to a flowing stream of water, using the temperature change of the water to calculate the energy released.
