Gear pumps will be used at safety situations like acid, methanol and etc etc. Because while transporting the acid through centrifugal pumps leakages may happen but with gear pumps it will not happen. So, I think the centrifugal pump is correct.

Answer must be a gear pump because centrifugal pumps not used for viscous fluids and diaphragm pumps are used for slurry which is corrosive nature so gear pumps are used for high viscous fluids.

Generally positive displacement pump is used;

Types of positive displacement pump;
1) Gear pump
2) Screw pump
3) Lobe pump
So, Answer is Gear pump.

Diaphragm pump is used for slurry only, here we shall use gear pump due to high viscosity and stickiness of material.

Fully confused!

Can anyone give me a list of various pumps with its unique applications?

Gear pump.

Because centrifugal pump is used for less viscous material, like water.

Here it is mentioned molten which means almost liquid so we can use centrifugal.

Where the fluid pressures high, then that we are using reciprocating pumps.

Diaphragm pump is used as dosing pump against hight pressure and head.

Gear pump is used to transport the thick slurry and viscous fluid.
