@All.

As per my knowledge; The most suitable flow measuring device for fluid flow measurement in a very large diameter pipeline is a Kennison nozzle.

Kennison nozzles are designed for use in large pipelines and can provide accurate flow measurements with minimal pressure loss. They are particularly effective for high flow rates, making them ideal for large-diameter applications.

Pitot tube measure local or poin velocity and also measure the difference between impact and static pressure.

The velocity at vena contracta measured by pitot tube.

For rectangular notch:
Q=2/3 Cd b L√2g H^3/2.

For V notch
Q= 8/15 Cd √2g H5/2 tan &theeta;/2.
