Area of square = x².
Parameter= 4x.
Then hydraulic radius = area of square/wetted perimeter.
= x²/4x.
= x/4.
Then hydraulic diameter = 4*hydraulic radius.
= 4*x/4.
= x.

It should be 4x, as equivalent dia = (H*B) /2(H+B).

Equivalent diameter = (area/wettted perimeter).
= (4x^2)/(4x) = x.
= (4x^2)/(4x) = x.
