Needle Valve: Designed for precise control of flow, it has a small opening and a long seat, which significantly restricts flow and leads to a high-pressure drop across the valve.
Globe Valve: This valve also creates a pressure drop but allows for better flow control than a gate valve due to its design.
Gate Valve: Typically designed to be either fully open or fully closed, it offers minimal resistance and, therefore, minimal pressure drop when fully opened.
Butterfly Valve: Generally has a lower pressure drop when fully open compared to the other types of valves, as it allows for a relatively unrestricted flow path.
