So concentrated sulphuric acid (93-98%) is used in manufacture of phosphoric acid. Where as dilute sulphuric acid (62-70%) is used in manufacture of super phosphate.

Phosphoric acid is produced from fluorapatite, known as phosphate rock, 3Ca3(PO4)2.CaF2, by the addition of concentrated (93%) sulfuric acid in a series of well-stirred reactors.

Phosphate rock Ca10(PO4)2F6 + 7H2SO4 gives 3CaH4(PO4)2 + 7CaSO4 + 2HF.

Here concentration of sulphuric acid is 55 to 75%.

It means super phosphate should be the other answer.

So according to me its a multiple answer question where A and B both are correct.

If I am wrong could some one clear my doubt.

Answer is given wrong. It should be B.

Phosphoric acid + Phosphate rock gives Trile superphosphate.

Sulfuric acid + Phosphate rock gives Superphosphate.

Triple super phosphate is the right answer.

Phosphate rock with conc H2SO4 makes phosphoric acid but phosphate rock and Dil H2SO4 produce Super phosphate.

Right answer is B.

Sulphuric acid + phosphate rock = superphosphate.

The reaction of the phosphate rock with the sulfuric acid produces phosphoric acid and hydrated calcium sulfate (phosphogypsum), a byproduct. The concentrated phosphoric acid is finally used to manufacture ingredients for inorganic fertiliser.
