For ammonia production, hydrogen source is methane which is available in natural gas 90-96% approx.
For cracking of methane, steam reforming process is used.
The Reaction of steam and methane at temp 750 degrees C using nickel catalyst gives hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

About 98 percent of synthetic ammonia is produced by catalytic steam reforming of natural gas.

The partial oxidation is for fuel oil and for natural gas is steam reforming.

This is not cracking its reforming. Cracking is a different process and gives H2, CO, CO2.
