Chloramines are formed as a result of free chlorine reacting with ammonia compound. This ammonia is added to a water supply or water chemical treatment plan to stabilize the free chlorine and so the chloramines are also being used as a disinfection. By the application of chloramine bes the taste and odor of drinking water have improved significantly.
