The rate is directly proportional to the concentration, not the rate constant. k is mainly dependent on temperature

Because The rate constant for a first-order reaction directly proportional to the initial concentration
-ra=k.Ca^1.

And Half-life period is independent on the initial concentration.
t(1/2)= 0.693/k.
