In case of fist order reaction:

Time taken for 75% completion=time taken for 2*50%.

For the first-order reaction, the concentration is decreased by 50 in every interval so if 50% is completed in 12 min then the next 25.% in 12 min so total 75% completed in 24 min.

I don't accept that... if the half life is 12 minutes, then after 12 minutes,50% of the initial mass say x is converted.

Hence, at 12minutes--------50% conversion.
then x minutes----------75% conversion.
When you solve it you would get exactly 18minutes.
which is option A.
