It's a chemical reaction, here adsorption and desorption are also chemical in nature. So, D should be the correct answer.

I think only physisorption the only physical process of absorption or adsorption and involves Vanderwaals forces.
And the chemical process is chemsorption which is the reverse process is desorption or stripping.
