Good day!

I'm a bit confused with the answer to this problem. Can I get a detailed explanation for this? I think that the answer should be letter C. But of course I would like to know reason behind this, and I am open to more ideas.

Thank you and more power indiabix. You are a great help to engineering student like me.

Yaa. The answer should be C, since for the spontaneous processes the entropy increases.

The Answer Obviously is C.

When gas expand high pressure to low pressure then it means it going to cool so entropy decreases.

I think part A is right.

Melting means having some energy and thus entropy will increase.

Since the degree of randomness decreases when the water is converted to ice the entropy decreases and also in an similar way when the gas is expanding from high pressure to low pressure the entropy increases.

So, only option (c) is correct.
