Pick out the correct statement.
Like internal energy and enthalphy, the absolute value of standard entropy for elementary substances is zero.
Melting of ice involves increase in enthalpy and a decrease in randomness.
The internal energy of an ideal gas depends only on its pressure.

Reversible processes produce the maximum amount of work.

This is because less heat is lost to the surroundings. So, a reversible process (infinitely slow) does the maximum work.

There is one example of this that is easy to understand: the work done by a gas expanding inside a piston.

Maximum work done is in reversible process.

In an irreversible process, only entropy is greater than zero, and the work done is negative. Because from sink the work is not reversible.
Q is less than 0.

A is correct, because in reversible reaction the gas was a push but the energy is zero.

No, D is not correct. In the reversible process workdone is zero not maximum.

Work done in reversible process is zero,

So, Option A is correct.
