The boiling point is the point at which water start to boil. This temp. is saturation temp. SO IF temp. Increase pressure increase.

As the pressure applied to the liquid surface is increased, the energy needed for the liquid molecules to expand to gas phase also increases. Hence, a higher temperature is required to change liquid to gas phase. So, boiling point of liquid rises on increasing pressure.

Answer should be C because similar phenomenon is observed in vacuum evaporators;in which the operation is carried at reduced pressure this results the boiling of liquid below its actual boiling point.

This indicates that if the pressure in the vacuum evaporator is increased then the boiling point of the fluid also increases (which is not desired).

But how melting point of wax increases?

We know that the temperature at which the vapour pressure of the liquid is equal to the given initial pressure at which liquid started to be boiled is called B. P, from above statement it is clear that, Tem. Is directly proportional; to the pressure. It means when pressure Raise temperature will be also raised.

For wax to melt, the temp of the flame has to be high enough to melt it. Thus, increase in temperature leads to increase in pressure and vice versa.

@All.

If you look at the Enthalpy vs Pressure graph, you can note that as you move along a higher isotherm, the Boiling point or saturation temp increases until you reach the critical temp.
