In case of compression, isothermal has lower work than adiabatic and vice-versa in case of expansion.

C is wrong. The correct answer is B. The lowest compression work achievable from an initial volume V1 to a final volume V2 is under an isobaric process since its area under the curve in a PV diagram is the smallest (isobaric < isothermal < adiabatic).

Conversely, isobaric expansion can generate the largest amount of work since the area under the curve will be the largest (isobaric > isothermal > adiabatic).
