Remember Le Chatelier's principle everyone! When carbs and energy are plentiful, after eating those biomolecules will be synthesised into fatty acids which will be stored in adipose tissue until your body requires extra energy such as during exercise when glucose is depleted. In addition, during fasting your body goes into gluconeogenesis where fat reserves are taken up by the body and glucose is further synthesised for uptake.
