The first step in cell cycle is G1 (gap1) here is the stage in which the cell uses nutrient so that it grow. In G1 no division of the cell.

After gap one phase it followed by S phase (DNA synthesis phase) here the DNA replication it occurs.

After S phase the next phase is M phase (mitosis phase) in this phase the cell it undergo the series of phases to form new cell.
