What is the different between Golgi apparatus and smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum?

Both look structurally the same as they both are composed of flattened cisternae. The difference is that sER is involved in lipid and steroid metabolism while the function of the Golgi is for chemical modification of proteins, sorting and packaging of molecules for secretion or transport to the other organelles.
